On the afternoon of 4 August 2020, two explosions occurred at the port of lebanons capital, Beirut. The extremely powerful second blast resulted in 158 deaths and still rising, 6,000 injuries, and AU$16–25 billion in property damage leaving an estimated 300,000 people homeless.

This comes at a time when Lebanon is already suffering from an economic crisis, a collapsed government,
Lack of food and medical supplies, lack of electricity supplies and to top it off an already struggling health system trying to cope with the global health pandemic.
